VP, Brand Success
Jim Starr is MediaOne’s VP of Brand Success and has been involved from with the company from the get-go — starting as a consultant for two years before joining full time. Well-versed in both traditional and digital media, Jim Starr began his career as a broadcast buyer before spending the next 10 years in outside sales, particularly in the travel/hospitality and technology verticals. Jim developed a deep interest in the trackability of the Internet, focusing his career exclusively on digital marketing in 2006. Over the course of his 30+ year career, he has owned two media companies, most recently serving as Managing Partner of DigiComm Group.
Jim’s agency and client experience is both broad and deep, having worked on accounts such as Biltmore Estate, Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, Audi, Charter Behavioral Health, McDonald’s, Coca-Cola and Honda, as well as multiple Destination Management Organizations (DMOs), State Tourism Offices and national hotel/resort chains. In his various roles in marketing, he helped build the brands of scores of clients by developing strategic, integrated programs that increase market share and, most importantly, drive ROI.
Jim is a Summa Cum Laude graduate from the University of Tennessee, where he received a Bachelor’s in Communications/Advertising. He currently resides in Northeast Tennessee with his wife and 10 children and spends his free time with his family hiking, fishing, and camping.
