Vice President of Brand Strategy
Steve Markuson has led MediaOne as Vice President of Brand Strategy since 2018. Since earning a degree in Mass Communications, Advertising, and Public Relations, Steve has garnered nearly 40 years of executive-level experience in the travel and tourism industry, including positions as Director of Tourism for the State of Minnesota and Director of Partner Marketing for the award-winning WorldPerks program at Northwest Airlines.
Coworkers call Steve personable, knowledgeable, and fun: three key ingredients to enhancing MediaOne’s brand awareness and recognition as a leading digital marketing firm. After promoting tourism for his entire career, Steve hopes to practice what he’s been preaching and resurrect the good ol’ fashion road trip to visit and reconnect with friends around the country. Outside of the office, Steve is usually pursuing culinary experiences and live music.
On Saturdays, you’ll find Steve boating or fishing at his family’s lakeside cabin in northern Minnesota. He devours biographies of historical figures (he’s currently on Benjamin Franklin) … and all musical genres from Bach to ZZ Top (he’s got more than 800 albums on his phone).
Steve knows that to make a difference, one must lead by example. He gives back to his community by supporting Feed My Starving Children and the Moorhead Legacy Education Foundation that provides scholarships for students of his alma mater high school. Steve splits his time between Saint Paul, MN, Homosassa, FL, and Detroit Lakes MN.
